Michele Capurso - Biography
Michele Capurso started working as a primary school teacher in 1991, and was
transferred to a Hospital School in 1995.
In 1997 he spent three months working and training with the Child Life Specialists at the
Connecticut Children's Medical Centre in Hartford (USA). When he came back to Italy, he
created a multidisciplinary training course for hospital teachers, educators, doctors and
nurses involved in the care of sick children.
Capurso has published two books and several papers about the psychology and the care of
the sick child and the use of the ICT with hospitalized children.
In 2000 he started working at the Department of Education of the University of Perugia
as Practical Teachers' Training Coordinator. In January 2004 he become Researcher in Psychology of Education at the same University. At the University of Perugia he also teaches Psychology of Education and Learning Psychology.
Capurso is member of the HOPE board of directors and Training programs coordinator for the Italian Associazione Gioco e Studio in Ospedale (Italy).
